Weathering the Storm (Response to NOM Gathering Storm)

Something that I was proud to be a part of. My friends Jeff and Paul mobilized everyone to put this production together. It is in response to the National Organization of Marriage's Gathering Storm ad against Gay Marriage.

My contribution was supplying the background music to the clip.

Yesterday I went to the park at the top of topanga canyon and took this East to West panoramic shot of the valley. Of course it's compiled of 9 different separate images, but none the less....i think it turned out pretty good.

I woke up this morning to head out to Rite Aid. Went out side and sat in my car around 7:20am. There was FROST everywhere on the car. Of course the first thing that came to mind was, 'oh I'll just get out and scrape the ice off the windows....oh WAIT...I LIVE IN LA, I DON'T HAVE AN ICE SCRAPER!!!!!" So i turned on all the heat, and the seat heaters, got out of car, and went back into the house. Waiting for 5 minutes in the house was enough time to allow the car to warm up and de-ice itself. As I stood there and watched the steam plummet from the tail pipe, i thought to myself....I live in LA right? Why am I needing to warm up my car in the morning!?!?! CRAZY!

Which now brings me to my next pondering...
Yesterday on the way to the gym I was driving north on Winnetka Blvd, and just north of the valley here there is a mountain range...which is the north set of mountains of the 'Valley'. Well as I was driving, i had to do a few double takes at the tops of the mountains, because over the 5 years I have been living here in the Valley, I have NEVER ONCE, seen white caps on these mountains....reason being, is the altitude of the tops of those mountains/hills is not that high. I could not believe what i was seeing. It really took my by surprise. Below is a pic I took with my phone...the tops of the mountains look farther away in the pic than they do in real life.

this is just a collection of a few images. Only since 2002, since I have had a digital camera. I am sure there are plenty more that I have on regular film, but alas, i do not have a working scanner. And being that I have lived in LA since 2001, I only have pics from certain occasions, and visits to NJ.

* more pictures were added to the slideshow, thanks to my Dad, who had scanned some pictures in a few months back.

The Song...I left My Heart In San Francisco, was a favorite of my Grandfathers.
Wish I had more pics for this slide show. The song is longer than the slideshow, so it will loop until the song is complete.

NEW BLOG for T365 photos

Ok, following a great suggestion from my Dad, I have started up a new separate blog JUST to display the pictures of my Twitter365 Flickr project. The reason I started this new blog, is so our main family blog does not become over bloated with pictures from every day...of my mug. 

So if you would like to keep up with the daily photos, feel free to head on over to ME IN 2009 and bookmark that puppy. :-)

Well i was going to take a picture of myself with something pertaining to OBAMA as today is January 20th 2009, the Inauguration of President Obama. But alas, i got too busy with work in the studio....and forgot all about taking a picture today. So, I just threw on the wide angle lens, whipped out the strobe umbrella and snapped one off :-) Not too exciting....but hey it's a picture for today, and I never stated that they'd be exciting.

Today, I was able to get out of bed a lot easier than the previous day. I made it into the studio and was actually able to sit in my chair and do a few things for work with tolerable pain in the lower back. But as time progressed through the morning, so did the pain. so now I am back in bed with heating pad for a short while and hoping i can back to the studio this afternoon for more work.

well my photos for this day, and the upcoming days won't be too exciting. Saturday I threw my back out and am pretty much unable to do anything. So this pic as it is stated, is taken with my iSight camera in my laptop. I think tomorrow's won't be much different.

joined a flickr group that requires me to upload ONE image of me every day for the year of 2009. Here is the picture from the first day of doing so.
I found out about this little project on Jan 16th....so my small project should be called Twitter350. So hopefully I'll be able to have a new post/pic EVERY DAY for this year. HAH! here's hoping!
